Work in secondary Schools

Yvette Edwards and Chrissy Towers are both employed, as Schools Christian Workers, by the Wokingham Area Schools Christian Worker Trust (WASCWT), a charity sponsored by 12 local churches.  Our  vision statement for the work is to:

“Connect the heart of God's Church with the school community through the development of mutual trust and respect"

Yvette and Chrissy's aim in their work is to fulfil the vision by being both a support and free resource to staff and pupils in local secondary schools. Their work involves a whole range of activities which include:  taking lessons on various topics, taking school assemblies, running Christian Unions, helping with both residentials and day school trips, taking part in fair Trade events, supporting staff with tea, coffee and cakes during one morning break each week, pupil mentoring, and lunchtime clubs.

Please feel free to contact Yvette or chrissy, if  you would like further information, or want to offer support.

Weekly news update:

This weeks blog:-)

As the term draws to a close, I (Chrissy) have been saying my goodbyes. I am moving on to Reading Schools Christian Worker Trust in September, and although I am really looking forward to starting there, I am very sorry to leave behind all the people I have got to know and call ‘friends’. I would like to thank the Trust and all the church representatives, volunteers and supporters for making me feel so welcome and encouraged over the last 21 months. I will continue to pray for all the work that goes on in Wokingham and will be updated regularly by Yvette, I am sure!
