Volunteering
Volunteers are the lifeblood of all the projects. Volunteering provides people with an opportunity to use their skills for the benefit of the community and to gain new skills and real satisfaction from their contribution. If you would like to help on any of the projects please register as a member and as part of the registration process you will be asked what key skills you can offer. Please also state as you register that you are prepared to volunteer and we will be in touch with you to discuss the options available.
If you are interested in other volunteering opportunities locally, please contact Wokingham Volunteer Centre.

VOLUNTEERS REQUIRED - VARIOUS ROLES

The Link Visiting Scheme is a registered charity established in order to combat social isolation in the Wokingham Borough. We work primarily but not exclusively amongst the elderly. Through a network of over 130 wonderful volunteers we provide friendship and social opportunities to those who are feeling lonely. We also provide basic computer training, believing that this can provide a useful window into the world, and regular 'Pie and Pint Clubs for (mainly) isolated older men locally.
We are always in need of willing volunteers who can either visit older people in their own homes on a weekly or fortnightly basis as well as opportunities to assist in other events and regular activities.
If you think you may be able to assist, please contact Marjie Walker at The Link Visiting Scheme on 0118 979 8019 or go to www.linkvisiting.org
