Green Care Farm

The Gardening Scheme

This is a pilot scheme of structured work in a supervised environment, for adults with stress and common mental health challenges, maintaining older people's gardens and growing vegetable produce and flowers for sale.

This three year scheme started in July 2009 and is funded by West Berkshire PCT Partnership Development Fund and Wokingham Borough Council. If you are finding it hard to look after your garden due to ongoing illness, old age or disabilities, then 'The Gardening Scheme' could be who to turn to. If you want to refer a Garden Owner to be considered to take part in the Scheme, please download a garden referral form.

Our volunteers and supervisors are a friendly team of people who could be working in your garden making an oasis out of a wilderness.

If you are interested in volunteering, are fit and enjoy gardening and want to act as a mentor then download an volunteer application form, or email admin@wokinghamgreencarefarm.org.uk

Update: May 2010

Unfortunately, due to financial cut backs our future funding for the Scheme has been withdrawn so we are unable to offer this service at present.

We hope to be in a position to restart the Scheme in the near future.
